ABOUT DAVID FARZIN

Born on October 30, 1993, David Farzin is a Franco-British fashion designer and bespoke tailor. He has English roots on his mother’s side and Iranian heritage from his father. He was born near Aubazine, the village where Gabrielle Chanel, better known as Coco Chanel, spent her teenage years.

Initially working in civil construction, David eventually decided to pursue his greatest passion: fashion. Like any new beginning, he started by studying sewing in Toulouse, in the south of France, at the age of 20.

After completing several internships, including one at Agnès B. and earning his diploma, he seized an opportunity in Paris and joined a professional atelier.

Faced with rejections from major haute couture houses, David went through a period of doubt. But through his network, he discovered the Marcel Bleustein-Blanchet Foundation for Vocation. He found his place there and was named a laureate in 2017.

His versatility and craftsmanship caught the foundation’s attention, leading to a key introduction to Pierre Hervé. Hervé connected him with Cécile Ouvrard, head of the Haute Couture atelier at Chanel. After a successful internship, David landed a one-year apprenticeship at Chanel’s iconic Rue Cambon ateliers. At the same time, he trained at the École de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne, graduating in 2018. He remained for another year, during which he had the privilege of working for Princess of Hanover, Carole Bouquet, and several international celebrities.

His adaptability was put to the test when he was asked to recreate a gown for a very special private client a piece from Virginie Viard’s first collection following the passing of Karl Lagerfeld.

Ever curious and eager for new challenges, David set off for Rome to study the art of tailoring at the Accademia Nazionale dei Sartori. There, he met a member of a prominent traditional Italian family who often spoke to him about Geneva, a city that soon began to fuel his dreams.

True to himself, David decided to turn the page and explore new horizons. He packed his bags and headed to Switzerland, the land of precision. Upon arrival, he encountered his first obstacles, but he did not give up. He began working in Geneva’s luxury hospitality sector.

Always inquisitive and determined, he later collaborated with fashion and interior design students from HEAD, creating several custom pieces. He then joined the prestigious luxury boutique Bongénie, where he worked as a tailor for two years. What he didn’t know at the time was that this experience would refine his skills with a uniquely Swiss finesse. He began dressing elite Geneva families, as well as royal and international clients.

David Farzin’s journey continues to evolve. What will he surprise us with next?
